I am privileged to be the leader of the Early Childhood team providing care, education and health services for children aged Birth to 8, and their families.
Recent research indicates that children’s early social and emotional experiences critically influence early brain development – with enduring consequences. At Narrabundah Early Childhood School we base our learning and teaching programs on our understanding of this impact and on our respect for young children and their competence as learners.
Child and maternal health services, community activities and parent education are integral components of the school program. Relationships form the basis of work at the school, with attention paid to consistency of staffing, high staff to child ratio and positive relationships established between staff, parents and children.
Building relationships takes time – inventing, experimenting and growing, taking risks, making mistakes and having fun! From birth to year 2 provides the time necessary for children and parents to be confident members of our community of learners.
I invite you to explore our website for more specific information about our school; and then contact us if we can be part of your family’s exciting journey from babyhood to age eight.
